Sigmund Freud

Vienna IX, Berggasse 19
2 June 1927

Dear Sir,

Caliban arrived here today. The book shall accompany me on my summer holiday to the Semmering (2 ½ hours' journey from Vienna), when I go there in a fortnight's time. There I shall read it and if anything worth while occurs to me I will write and tell you. But don't count on this; my horizon is narrow, and I do not easily find my way in territory where I am not at home. Also I've got all kinds of uncharitable prejudices with regard to humanity. But why should I forestall your critics!

Kindest greetings and thank you once again for the contact which your book has established between us.

Yours
Freud
