The aim of The Journal of Clinical Psychoanalysis was to meet a universally felt need for greater access to clinical data by providing the reader with case studies in a breadth and depth hitherto unavailable. To provide a growing library of such basic data over the years, by publishing new case reports at length and in detail, as well as by sharing selected cases from the archives of the Treatment Center of the New York Psychoanalytic Institute. The latter, as well as other material generated by the various divisions of the New York Psychoanalytic Institute, may usually be found in the section of the Journal entitled “Proceedings of the New York Psychoanalytic Institute.”
