It provided an overview of the year's developments in psychoanalytic literature, with each Almanach consisting of twenty or so short articles, mostly reprints but with occasional original contributions, as well as a list of the year's publications by the Internationaler Psychoanalytischer Verlag.

Since 2007 The Italian Psychoanalytic Annual presents a selection in English of the papers published during the previous year in the Rivista di Psicoanalisi, the journal of the Italian Psychoanalytic Society. Its aim is to make Italian psychoanalysis known beyond its linguistic boundaries and to help it to take its place on the international psychoanalytic stage, adequately representing its polyphonic nature and, in the variety of tones which characterise it, to accentuate the harmony and originality of its voice. The challenge that Rivista di Psicoanalisi has set itself is to facilitate dialogue among this plurality so as to ensure that the meeting is fruitful, within the rigours of the method. The publication of the Bulletin of the Anna Freud Centre (originally entitled the Bulletin of the Hampstead Clinic) made available some of the many clinical reports and other material of psychoanalytic interest that had accumulated at the Anna Freud Centre over the years. The Bulletin was meant to reflect the work and orientation of the Centre through the presentation of clinical reports in the way in which they were made at the Centre, it being felt that the richness of clinical observation was all too often lost in conventional journal presentations. It was hoped that The Bulletin would convey a valid impression of the particular set of psychoanalytic approaches adopted at the Centre.

Established in 1938, the Bulletin of the American Psychoanalytic Association published a record of all proceedings of regular or special meetings of the American Psychoanalytic Association and the reports of the activities of all its Committees. It also contained the proceedings of the constituent societies and the reports of the recognized training organizations (psychoanalytic institutes and special teaching organizations) for each academic year. Essential administrative documents and instruments of the Association (and their amendments), such as Constitution, By-Laws, Training Regulations, etc. were recorded, alongside a complete directory of the members of the Association; with new members, obituaries etc., being subsequently reported.

Since 1990 the Canadian Journal of Psychoanalysis (CJP) is published twice yearly by the Canadian Psychoanalytic Society. In addition to clinical and theoretical papers, CJP accepts contributions in related areas of scientific and humanistic interest, including outcome and technique research, reports on systematic observation of the analytic process, papers related to professional ethics, the history of psychoanalysis, and psychoanalytically-inspired studies of culture, society, and the arts.

Originally founded by Ernest Jones in collaboration with Sigmund Freud in 1920, the Journal publishes submitted articles on Psychoanalytic Theory & Technique, The History of Psychoanalysis, Clinical Communications, Education & Professional Issues, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, Interdisciplinary Studies, and Film Essays. The IJP also publishes commissioned papers on the Analyst at Work, Psychoanalytic Controversies, and Education, as well as book reviews, obituaries, correspondence and the main papers and panel reports from the International Psychoanalytical Association's Congresses. Freud began the publication of Imago in 1912, editing it with the assistance of Otto Rank and Hanns Sachs. Its subtitle Zeitschrift für Anwendung der Psychoanalyse auf die Geisteswissenschaften, defined its concern as the application of psychoanalysis to the humanities. The journal continued under this title until 1937, when it suspended publication for a year. In 1939, it combined with the Internationale Zeitschrift für Psychoanalyse under the title of Internationale Zeitschrift für Psychoanalyse una Imago, and ran from volume 24, 1939 through volume 26, 1941. The journal was the official organ of the international psychoanalytic movement.

The International Review of Psycho-Analysis was an internationally orientated psychoanalytic periodical created as a sister Journal to The International Journal of Psychoanalysis. The Review catered for articles on 'applied' psychoanalysis, 'teaching' articles, suitable for students of psychoanalysis and for those in other disciplines concerned with the application of psychoanalytic thought. It provided space for articles which were normally considered too long for publication, papers in special fields, such as that of child psychoanalysis, and symposia on important psychoanalytic topics. Papers of special biographical and historical interest were included, as well as articles reflecting trends in psychoanalytic thought and practice in non-English-speaking countries. In 1994, The International Review of Psycho-Analysis was merged with The International Journal of Psychoanalysis.

The Journal of the American Academy of Psychoanalysis (1973-2002), retitled The Journal of the American Academy of Psychoanalysis and Dynamic Psychiatry (2003-2011) was the official publication of The American Academy of Psychoanalysis and Dynamic Psychiatry.

The journal was created in response to the need for the continued study and teaching of psychodynamic concepts in organized psychiatry. The central tenet of the journal is that psychodynamic principles are necessary for adequately understanding and treating people with psychiatric symptoms, syndromes and disorders. Its guiding framework is developmental and bio-psycho-social. The journal publishes review articles, clinical discussions and research.

From Volume 40, 2012 the journal's name was changed to Psychodynamic Psychiatry.

It explores the dynamic unconscious and its origins and is based on the psychoanalytic treatment situation, from which its theories and conceptualizations develop and against which they have to be measured. This view of psychoanalysis is the guiding principle behind the design of the journal Jahrbuch der Psychoanalyse, in which works on clinical practice and clinical theory, on metapsychology and on applied psychoanalysis occupy a central place.

Luzifer-Amor is the only German-language and worldwide the oldest special journal for the history of psychoanalysis (founded in 1988). Its subject matter covers a wide spectrum: Freud's life, work and historical context, the life and work of post-Freudian analysts, including Nazi emigration, the history of psychoanalytic organisations, including the problems of training, the development of psychoanalytic theory and practice, the history of the impact of psychoanalysis in areas such as medicine, education or literature. The point of reference for all contributions is the Freudian tradition, but without association.

It is a characteristic of Luzifer-Amor that interesting source texts that were previously unpublished or forgotten are repeatedly printed. In the review section, an attempt is made to include all relevant new German-language publications. The journal is the co-organizer of the symposium on the history of psychoanalysis, which takes place annually in Berlin.

Neuropsychoanalysis publishes papers at the intersection of psychoanalysis and the neurosciences. The journal was founded on the assumption that these two historically divided disciplines are ultimately pursuing the same task, namely, 'attempt[ing] to make the complications of mental functioning intelligible by dissecting the function and assigning its different constituents to different component parts of the [mental] apparatus' (Freud, 1900a, p. 536). Although the fields have approached this task from radically different perspectives, the underlying commonalities have become increasingly evident as neuroscientists have begun to investigate those 'complications of mental functioning' that were traditionally the preserve of psychoanalysts, such as emotion, unconscious cognition, and interpersonal processes. Neuropsychoanalysis provides an arena for integrating the explosion of neuroscientific insights into existing psychoanalytic theories and models, and for enriching behavioral and cognitive neuroscience, neurology, neuropsychology and related fields with the dynamic perspectives of psychoanalytic thought and practice.

The review Die Psychoanalytische Bewegung (\"The Psychoanalytic Movement\") was first published in 1929 as one of the publications of the Internationaler Psychoanalytischer Verlag. As its title suggests, this periodical was intended to open the frontiers of the institutionally contained psychoanalytic world to a broader non-specialist public. As a link between the science of psychoanalysis and a public with an interest in the literature, this periodical saw itself as a forum for somewhat unorthodox propositions and ideas. In addition to contributions from applied psychoanalysis, the review also brought together reviews of contemporary literature in the domain, as well as short literary or scientific works dating from an earlier period and considered to be precursors of psychoanalysis.

Psicoterapia e Scienze Umane (Psychotherapy, Humanities, and Social Sciences) is an interdisciplinary quarterly journal. Founded in 1967, it is the most widely circulated journal in the field in Italy, and also one of the oldest. The project Psicoterapia e Scienze Umane was one of the original aims and methods of the \"Milan Group for the Advancement of Psychotherapy\".

The precise aim, which is still valid today, was to meet the needs of professionals involved in psychotherapy and related fields along three fundamental lines. First of all, the journal wanted to fill the gap between the Italian and international mental health communities - the Italian situation at the time was characterized by widespread cultural delay (university courses and degrees in psychology didn't exist, psychiatry was still under the influence of neurology, etc.) Secondly, there was a need to provide a historical and critical filter for all the foreign professional culture that was being imported, in order to avoid the flat and automatic absorption of foreign cultural models. Thirdly, the journal was designed to examine mental health professionals' training processes in light of the link between clinical practice and theoretical construction.

The journal is designed in magazine/book format and is published twice a year, in spring and autumn. Like many psychoanalytic periodicals, Psikanaliz Yazıları includes a theme in each issue. Pages are devoted to the original writings of psychoanalysts and Turkish writers, as well as the translations of the important theorists of the past and present of psychoanalysis. Thus, it was aimed to be a Turkish part of international psychoanalysis.

Founded in 1927 “under the patronage of Pr Sigmund Freud”, it is the first international journal of psychoanalysis in French. Published under the responsibility of the Psychoanalytical Society of Paris, the Revue française de psychanalyse has editorial independence. Its editorial committee decides on the texts published according to its own criteria, in accordance with the history of the journal, and attentive to its time. A place of debate and reassessment of many clinical and metapsychological questions, it puts to work the great contemporary psychoanalytical themes, confronts classical Freudian data with post-Freudian contributions in the field of psychoanalysis and outside this field.

The objective of the Rivista is to provide a continual update on topics of psychoanalytic research and to extend its readers’ literary panorama into the international field by featuring contributions from foreign authors. Readers are offered the most up to date and significant contributions to psychoanalysis in the Freudian tradition, with close attention being paid to current developments in theoretical thinking and contemporary clinical practice, both in relation to the psychoanalysis of adults and of children and adolescents. Each year a selection of the most significant work published during the previous year comes out in English with the aim of fostering the reading of Italian work by foreign colleagues.

The Romanian Journal of Psychoanalysis was founded in 2007 at the initiative of the Romanian psychoanalyst Nadia Bujor from the Psychoanalytic Society in Paris. Brînduşa Orăşanu, Vera Şandor and Vasile Dem Zamfirescu from the Romanian Society of Psychoanalysis were the founders, as well as the Romanian Scientific Committee. Its purpose is to stimulate psychoanalytic research and scientific communication in this field, both between Romanian psychoanalysts as well as between them and their foreign peers. It is for this reason that the articles are published exclusively in French or English.

The journal constitutes a space of dialogue between psychoanalysts of different theoretical orientations, with clinical experience specific to particular historical contexts in the practice and development of psychoanalysis, as well as a space for interdisciplinary dialogue, offering new openings towards related fields, such as the psychotherapy of psychoanalytic orientation or towards complementary sciences, such as anthropology or philosophy. The journal includes mainly original articles of theoretical and clinical psychoanalysis, as well as articles based on applied reserch, review articles and also book reviews, on psychoanalytic field. The materials are subject to editorial evaluation and anonymous review.

A forum for open debate, the journal includes articles representing different traditions, epistemological positions and theoretical modalities enabling the development of a more open, reflective thinking to philosophy, theory and practice of psychotherapy and counselling psychology. The Journal of Psychological Therapies encourages critical, broad and experimental interpositions in discussions, tending to transcend methodological and metatheoretical divisions.

Note: The journal was put on hold in 2023 after the editor stepped down and no new editor was forthcoming.

This peer-reviewed journal, published in both English and Chinese, proposes to explore the introduction of psychoanalysis, psychoanalytic therapy, and the wider application of psychoanalytic ideas into China. It aims to have articles authored by Chinese and Western contributors, to explore ideas that apply to the Chinese clinical population, cultural issues relevant to the practice of analysis and psychotherapy, and to the cultural interface between Western ideas underpinning psychoanalysis, and the richness of Chinese intellectual and philosophical ideas that analysis must encounter in the process of its introduction.

Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in China features theoretical and clinical contributions, philosophical and cultural explorations, applications such as the analytic study of art, cinema and theatre, social aspects of analytic thought, and wider cultural and social issues that set the context for clinical practice.

The academic journal, Psychoanalysis, Culture & Society was founded by an international group of academics to provide a space where critical intellectuals from the fields of politics, cultural studies, and the humanities, as well as both academic and clinical psychoanalysts could engage in dialog to understand pressing social trends.

A key underlying purpose of the journal is to explore issues of social justice and understand obstacles to progressive social change. The journal does not endorse any one single psychoanalytic viewpoint or orthodoxy but is open to a variety of psychoanalytic perspectives that address the intersection of psychoanalysis, culture and society and that explore pressing issues of equity, inequality, sustainability, theories of subject formation, and the potential for emancipatory clinical practice.

As well as rigorous Original Articles, the journal welcomes alternative and experimental forms of writing in its Counterspace, and also publishes reviews of new academic books in psychoanalysis and critical social sciences that are in line with its mission.

The journal is co-owned by international publisher Palgrave/Springer, and the Association for the Psychoanalysis of Culture & Society, which holds an annual academic meeting usually at Rutgers University in New Jersey, USA in late October. All articles published in the journal are subjected to rigorous peer review from members of our distinguished international Editorial Board.

Psychoanalysis, Self and Context is a peer-reviewed quarterly that focuses on the nature of self-experience as it exists within and across multiple contexts. These contexts include the clinical, developmental, historical, cultural, social and political.

Formerly known as the International Journal of Psychoanalytic Self Psychology, Psychoanalysis, Self and Context offers articles reflecting a variety of psychoanalytic perspectives such as self psychology, intersubjectivity, dynamic systems, relational and interpersonal theories, attachment theory and interdisciplinary work. It publishes original articles, plenary presentations, commentaries, as well as reviews of books, films and other art forms.

The journal is committed to advancing the highest level of scholarship and theoretical creativity. It is devoted to illustrating sound clinical practice and a diversity of ideas. It fosters interdisciplinary research and seeks to demonstrate the relevance of contemporary psychoanalysis for a wider audience.

The 2022 release of PEP-Web contains the complete text and illustrations of 83 premier journals in psychoanalysis, 100 classic psychoanalytic books, 104 videos, and the full text and editorial notes of the 24 volumes of the Standard Edition of the Complete Psychological Works of Sigmund Freud as well as the 19 volume German Freud Standard Edition, Gesammelte Werke. It spans over 110 publication years and contains the full text of articles whose source ranges from 1911 through 2021.

There are over 139936 articles and 18773 figures and illustrations that originally resided on 2591 volumes with over 1.25 million printed pages. In hard copy, the PEP Archive represents a stack of paper more than 409 feet high and weighing over 5 tons!

We are pleased to also release Ralph R. Greenson's The Technique and Practice of Psychoanalysis – Volume 1 (IUP, 1967).

The Video Collection now includes interviews with key French psychoanalysts authored by Marianne Persine, former head of the Paris Psychoanalytical Society Archives. Being transcribed by PEP in both English and French, this series will enable vital yet previously untranslated dialogues to be made available to PEP subscribers.

The first video features An Interview with André Green: On Clinical Thinking.
