The Index, sponsored by the World Federation for Mental Health, the International Council of Psychologists and the Research Center for Mental Health at New York University, brings annually a selective list of books with references to 3 or more reviews. It thus aims at a composite of important monographs in the psychological and allied sciences. For the past 10 years, the Index has attempted to develop a new theory, what the editors call an “anthropotropic” system, based on a variety of scientific approaches, arranged on an orbital principle. Of specific value to those active in the humanities, social science and in the behavioral sciences generally.
