A copyright embargo is the delay before recent journal content becomes readable through the PEP Archive. The publisher’s licence sets the delay; PEP hosts and indexes the material but does not generally own its copyright.
Searchable does not always mean readable
An embargoed article can appear in full-text search results while only its bibliographic details and available abstract or limited opening text are visible. Signing in to an archive subscription does not automatically unlock embargoed issues.
Check the current dates
Open the publication in Journals and read its copyright embargo notice and volume information. Periods differ between journals, and the accessible years move as the archive is updated. The publication page is the place to check current coverage.
Some separate journal subscriptions extend access to more recent content. See What can I access? and the maintained subscription information before purchasing.
If the article should be included in your access, follow the full-text checks. For a question about a particular publication, contact PEP. Formal conditions remain in the copyright terms.
