Exciting developments and growth have occurred in the Karen Horney Clinic since our new building opened two years ago. The new facilities have been used extensively for our further expansion and progress. The library has been refurnished and enriched with new and old volumes, and is now complete. A Research Room has been built and is being utilized at present by our newly developed Research Department. Therapy rooms are being improved steadily. The auditorium has been used to its fullest advantage by all three organizations. In short, the physical plant has realized our anticipations.
The Clinic therapy program has steadily kept pace with this physical advance. Our Research Department, under DR. Vollmerhausen, is now engaged in a special research project in conjunction with the chairman of the Department of Sociology of New York University, Dr. Bressler. This pilot study will attempt to evaluate the impact of change due to therapy in the patient, in members of the patient's family, and in others with whom he has close contact.
Individual therapy, group therapy, and child analysis also continue to function effectively.
