The year of 1968-69 will be remembered as one of great pleasure coupled with an intense feeling of shock and loss. The untimely deaths of three of our members, Drs. Melvin Boigon, Albert L. Deutsch, and Nathan Freeman have left us with a deep sense of bereavement. Dr. Freeman was at one time treasurer and on the Editorial Board of The American Journal of Psychoanalysis. Dr. Deutsch was Treasurer and a member of many committees. Dr. Boigon, as Past-President, Chairman of the Program Committee, Councillor on the Executive Council, Past Secretary, and member of many committees, gave unstintingly of his time, energy and knowledge. The tragic loss of these men will be keenly felt by all.

Harold Kelman and Rose Spiegel; “Character Structure and its Relationship to Drug Abuse” by Dr. Robert Sharoff, discussants Drs. Louis R. Hott and Harold L. Trigg; “Investigation of a Learning Block in Schizophrenia” by Dr. Sara Sheiner, discussants Drs. David Shainberg and Donald Meyers; “The Medium is the Message in Psychoanalysis” by Dr. Joseph W. Vollmerhausen, discussants Drs. Ralph Slater and John L. Schimel; and “The Role of Core Gender Identity in the Genesis of Perversions” by Dr. Harry Gershman, discussants Drs.
