Andrew Bernath, M.D., died October 13, 1973 after a long illness. He was born in Budapest, August 30, 1908, and came to this country in 1949. A faculty member of the American Institute for Psychoanalysis, he was Associate Director of Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital from 1965 to 1970. In 1970 he was appointed Director of the Dunlap-Manhattan Psychiatric Hospital. Dr. Bernath's kindness and his love for family, work and patients were always apparent. A quality of grace invested his way of living, his mind and his spirit. We are fortunate in having had him as friend and colleague.
Carl Kornreich, M.D. passed away on October 5, 1973. Born in Toronto, 1907, his life was accented by struggle and deprivation, success and failure, satisfactions and frustrations, joys and sorrows. Clearly, his was a full, rich life, through which ran a golden vein of profound affection and regard for family, friends and patients. We mourn his passing.
