Samuel Seitz, M.D., a long time member of the Karen Horney Clinic and Psychoanalytic Institute and Center, died on October 28, 1980.
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Seitz received his M.D. from Emory University and was licensed to practice medicine in Georgia in 1941. He received training in psychiatry at Lawson V.A. Hospital, Chamblee, Georgia, and in the V.A. Hospital, Perry Point, Maryland. In 1952, he obtained a New York State license and attended the American Institute for Psychoanalysis, where he was certified in the practice of psychoanalysis in 1965.
A private man of great dignity, Dr. Seitz was deeply committed to the lives he touched in his work. His sensitivity was revealed in his love of music, his quiet humor, and in the gentleness of his friendships. He will be greatly missed.
