There is a typographical error in the comments of Dr. Jack Danielian in The Horney Centennial, Vol. 46, No. 4 (Winter, 1986), pages 360-366. In the last line of the thirdparagraph on p. , the word spirits should be splits. Thus the sentence reads:

Wholeheartedness for Horney was optimistic not by definition, dint of will, or blindness to tragedy, but through a clinical process of healing splits still very difficult to render in western psychological terms.
