An International Karen Horney Society is being formed, the objectives of which will be to put people interested in Horney in touch with each other, to keep members informed of developments in Horney theory and Horney studies, and to call Horney's contribution to the attention of those who may not be familiar with it. To facilitate these objectives, we will distribute information about the members, publish a bulletin, and hold international conferences, selected proceedings of which may be published in The American journal of Psychoanalysis.
Membership in the Society will be open to anyone, with the understanding that such membership confers no professional credentials. We envision the Society as having not only an international but an interdisciplinary character. In addition to clinicians, we hope to have literary critics, biographers, historians, social scientists, creative artists, and others as members. There will be an annual membership fee of $25.00 (U.S. currency) to cover expenses. To join the Society or for more information, contact Professor Bernard J. Paris, 1430 N.W. 94th Street, Gainesville, FL 32606. (904) 332-7368
