Linington describes the psychotherapeutic challenges he faced in treating a client with language and physical impairment. Needing to develop a way to understand what his client was actually saying, he and the client worked out a method to make clear what the client was saying before Linington made a response. The client's wheelchair also played a significant part in the therapy, as did their physical relating - what Linington calls their intersubjective bodies - in the way each of their bodies responded to each other. The ending of the therapy is particularly poignant.
