The article describes my experience as an identical twin with particular reference to being in long-term psychotherapy. It focuses on my perception that the unique dynamics arising as a result of my twinship were not given sufficient attention or emphasis during my therapy and as a result a crucial part of my work was left incomplete despite many other important areas being addressed. I want to stress how vital it is for the therapist to be aware of the centrality of the twinship relationship when working with a client who is a twin.
