Undertook her MA in gestalt therapy at the Gestalt Centre London, and developed her theory and research through her work experience and the process of writing her dissertation on which her article is based. Cathie has developed, through private practice, a small service called ‘Home & Away Psychological Therapies Service’, who specialise in working with children in care; she also heads up a psychological therapies service in a specialist BESD school and children's home for girls. She has over twenty-five years' experience working with children and families across all the statutory services, previously having worked in CAMHS, as a team lead, specialising in working with children in care, from residential, fostering and adoption, through to children's secure units.
