The Commonalities between Survivors of Organised Abuse and Refugees Fleeing War

Both must leave dire situations to save their lives; both endure homelessness, deprivation & a struggle to maintain basic needs & human dignity in the face of impossible odds; both are alienated and exiled due to circumstances beyond their control; both are stigmatised, their suffering invisible and the wall of prejudice against them something close to evil.

Both have to rebuild a life whilst recovering from traumatic events.

Both have to fight several times harder than someone who has not been abused or made a refugee—to prove their worth & value to a society that struggles to make room for them.
