The Ghost

Originally from the United States but of Irish origin and having lived at various times in the US, the UK, Ireland, France, and the Netherlands, Síofra now lives and works in London with her partner and their two very noisy and “characterful” cats. The Ghost is the second from a series of seven poems entitled Grit, Bone, Sky & Light which were written over a three year period. The poems explore themes of identity—fragmentation and recomposition and of travels through a post-traumatic transformation journey of “death” and “rebirth“—whether that was in a literal, spiritual, psychological, or purely metaphorical sense. In addition to poetry, Siofra also enjoys finding creative expression through ballet, photography, and painting.
