In the first part, the author forwards her reflection on analytic training literature, which unanimously refers to the internal contradiction and paradox of the intention to teach a discipline that is based on ‘the firm belief that the unconscious exists’. The second part, in order to move beyond this impasse, not relapse into prescriptive scholastic models, but not relinquish either the intention to pass on valid tools with which to expand knowledge/care of the self and the other from the self, having only the asymptotic horizon of Bion's O as a frontier, shows how it is essential in psychoanalytic training to sojourn in and cross several areas of experience and knowledge that are made available to psychoanalysts undergoing training by their institution as well as researched independently, too. These are broad and manifold areas, within which each pupil may weave connected patterns and build models, that is, ways of thinking and working psychoanalytically.
