Data on early psychic functioning were presented from two approaches:
1From the analyses of adolescent and postadolescent patients whose archaic fantasies and earliest oral conflicts came to the fore in anticipation of marriage and parenthood. These analyses gave the opportunity to trace, in the same person, the influence of their earliest psychic functioning on their present ego ideals as mate and parent.
