I have attempted to refocus attention on the influence of the observation of parental intercourse by a child between the ages of five and a half and eight on his sexual behavior and mental life during early adolescence. The material was reassembled and reconstructed from the analysis of an adult patient. Attention to reconstructions and reassemblages of early adolescent experiences from adult analyses may contribute to our understanding of this developmental stage.
