February 2, 2004. I welcome the opportunity to respond to Sue Taylor's letter. I appreciate her asking for clarification of the difference between a clinical psychoanalyst and an art historian in the examination of the relationship between the art and the psyche of an artist, in this case Hans Bellmer. I want her to know that I admire her book from an art historical point of view, for she presents Bellmer's entire oeuvre rather than just his early works, and that is of great interest and value.
