It is again time to extend our gratitude to those whose terms on the Editorial Board came to a close on December 31. We say good-bye with thanks to Lee Ascherman, Judith F. Chused, Peter Dunn, Dianne Elise, Gerald I. Fogel, Peter Goldberg, Linda C. Mayes, Donald Moss, and Richard Munich. We bid farewell also to Karin Ahbel-Rappe, Ayelet Barkai, Christine C. Kieffer, Adele Tutter, and Jeanine M. Vivona, our Editorial Associates. This outgoing group of board members and associates did an extraordinary amount of impressive work during their tenure, and we hope they found their JAPA experience rewarding.

White will be leaving JAPA as internet editor. Bob did a yeomanly job of handling the JAPA Netcast, and we are very grateful for the time he was able to dedicate to the journal.
We welcome the following new Editorial Board members, whose terms officially began on January 1: Stephen B. Bernstein, Daria Colombo, Anne Erreich, James P. Frosch, James F. Leckman, Janice Lieberman, Ellen Pinsky, Donnel Stern, and Jeanine M. Vivona. In addition, we officially welcome four new Editorial Associates, who have been hard at work since last spring: Michael Garfinkle, Elizabeth Rottenberg, Bret R. Rutherford, and Britt-Marie Schiller.
Also in 2009, to encourage new authors to submit their work to a major journal, JAPA initiated a First Paper Prize. We are pleased to have a submission that may be a candidate for this award in 2010. Details about the First Paper Prize appear in this issue, and we encourage readers to assist new authors in bringing fresh ideas to our ever changing field.
