On Friday, July 16 and Saturday, 17 1993, the Centre held a reunion meeting for everyone who had graduated from the child therapy training course since its inception in 1947. On Friday evening there was a meeting of welcome and a chance for graduates to share in recent changes and future plans for the Centre.
Saturday began with a presentation by Miss Pat Radford, which we publish in full, of the case of an acutely anxious and highly aggressive four-year-old. Her paper also features the collaborative efforts by various agencies required to deal with a child in crisis and includes, in addition to the account of the treatment, reports from our Nursery consultant, Mrs Zaphiriou Woods, on the role of the Nursery for the child, an account of the supportive work with the mother by one of our psychiatric social workers, Miss Anne Penington, and an indication of the Centre's relationship with the Court. The presentation is prefaced by excerpts from the Provisional Diagnostic Profile by Mrs E. Model.
For the remainder of the day participants were offered the choice of joining one of a number of discussion groups in which staff and students of the Anna Freud Centre reportedon ongoing clinical and research work. Brief accounts of the reports and discussions are published after the main presentation.
