In his book Dr Robert Samuels presents, in systematic form, the way in which he believes Lacan's thought can be related to the traditional categories of psychoanalytic theory and clinical practice. The author constructs a model of subjective experience that accounts for three major
types of psychological disorder - neurosis, psychosis and perversion. He relates these to three forms of subjectivity formulated by Lacan - the real and imaginary and the symbolic. This is an intriguing work.
