Dr. Ives Hendrick, Chairman of the Program Committee, is beginning to formulate his program for the Mid-Winter Meeting of the American Psychoanalytic Association, which will most likely be held in New York City, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 17, 18, 19, 1948, at the Hotel Pennsylvania.
The first day will be devoted to meetings of the Executive Council, Board of Professional Standards, and Administrative and Scientific Committees. On the last two days there will be a scientific program. This will consist of scientific papers, and probably half a day devoted to several concurrent Panel Discussions. The program is thus far tentative; announcement of the final program will be sent to members in October.
Members are reminded that manuscripts of papers for this meeting should be sent in quadruplicate to the Chairman of the Program Committee, Dr. Ives Hendrick, 205 Beacon Street, Boston, Mass.
This Committee, under the chairmanship of Dr. Harry Weinstock, working very closely with Dr. Hendrick, is trying to arrange a social program to make the mid-winter meetings enjoyable. Tentative plans call for a large cocktail party on Sunday, the 19th, which will be given through the combined auspices of the New York Psychoanalytic Society and the Association for Psychoanalytic Medicine. It is planned to hold an informal beefsteak dinner and dance on Saturday, the 18th.
The Chairman of all standing committees are requested to advise the Executive Assistant, Mr. Merrill H. Whitney, if they are planning to schedule committee meetings. If it is feasible, suitable space will be reserved for the afternoon or evening of Friday, the 17th, or the afternoon of Sunday, the 19th. Members are urgently requested to fill out and return the questionnaire which is being mailed with the Bulletin.
