In 1909 on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary celebration of Clark University, Sigmund Freud was invited to visit America. This year for its sixtieth anniversary celebration the same University invited Anna Freud. The eighteen days that Anna Freud spent in America must have given her a slightly distorted view of the pace set by the scientific groups in America, because of the eagerness with which we all wanted to hear and see her.
