THE 17th INTERNATIONAL PSYCHOANALYTIC CONGRESS WILL BE HELD IN AMSTERDAM AUGUST 6, 7, 8, 9, 1951. THIS WILL BE PRECEDED BY AN EVENING RECEPTION ON AUGUST 5th.
The members of the American Psychoanalytic Association who plan to attend are requested to notify Dr. Grete L. Bibring, Honorary Secretary of the International Psychoanalytic Association, 47 Garden Street, Cambridge 38, Mass., and to send in their names and addresses no later than the Mid-Winter meeting. This relatively early deadline is essential as information from Amsterdam tells of the difficulty in reserving rooms for August in the city and therefore the Dutch Arrangements Committee is anxious to start negotiations with the hotels as soon as possible.
There has been a change in the Administration Office of the American Psychoanalytic Association. Mr. Merrill H. Whitney, who from the beginning of the establishment of the Central Office has been our Executive Assistant, has resigned, and Mr. John McVeigh has been appointed his successor as of November 1st, 1950. Those of us who have worked with Mr. Whitney can appreciate the monumental task he did in setting up and organizing the Central Office to the present point of efficiency. We are grateful to him and are sure that we are conveying the feelings of the members of the American Psychoanalytic Association in expressing our thanks.
To Mr. McVeigh we say welcome and wish him success.
Dr. Richard D. Evans is our new correspondent for the Los Angeles Psychoanalytic Society. He reports many major changes following the decision to establish two separate Societies
