The Deferred Compensation, Retirement Plan for Faculty Members has been implemented by the Board of Trustees and is now available to all training analysts who wish to participate. Under this plan, the training analyst who is also a faculty member becomes an employee of the Society-Institute through an employment contract which includes specifications regarding salary and retirement payments. The employee's compensation is paid from candidates' analytic and supervisory fees received by the Society-Institute, with the following allocation as approved by the Trustees: 50 per cent for current salary, from which Social Security, Federal and State income taxes will be deducted; 47 per cent for deferred compensation; and 3 per cent to be retained by the Society-Institute for payment of Employer's Social Security Taxes and administrative expense in connection with the plan. The deferred compensation amounts are funded by annuity contracts between the Society-Institute and an insurance firm, which obtains the details for each contract through individual consultation.
A number of faculty members are already covered by this plan and additional requests for participation are being received continuously.
