An abstract of the Minutes of the Business Meeting of Members, including the reports of the Secretary of the Executive Council and of the Secretary of the Board on Professional Standards, as well as all other transactions are published in this issue of the Bulletin. Members who desire to obtain copies of the official Minutes of any of these bodies may do so by communicating with the Executive Secretary, Mrs. Helen Fisher, One East 57 Street, New York, New York 10022.
The Business Meeting of Members was held at the Statler Hilton Hotel, Detroit on Sunday, May 7, 1967, with Dr. Leo Rangell, the outgoing President, and Dr. Charles Brenner, the incoming President, presiding. Dr. Herbert F. Waldhorn was the outgoing Secretary and Dr. Eugene Pumpian-Mindlin the incoming Secretary.
Dr. Rangell, prior to turning over the gavel of the Association to Dr. Charles Brenner, spoke to the members concerning his impressions of the past year. Dr. Rangell, who, as outgoing President, has the particular vantage point of a previous Presidency of the Association, five years past, compared the Association in 1962 to where it is in 1967. He itemized for the membership the accomplishments and key issues of the past year and thanked all those who had worked along with him during his tenure of office. He then introduced Dr. Charles Brenner as the new President of the Association. After accepting the gavel from Dr. Rangell, Dr. Brenner spoke about his predecessor; of his devotion to psychoanalysis, of his efforts on behalf of the Association, of his tact, determination, and steadfastness; and then presented Dr. Rangell with the A. A. Brill Past-President's Medal. Dr. Brenner introduced the new officers of the Association: Dr. Samuel Ritvo, President-Elect; Dr. Eugene Pumpian-Mindlin, Secretary; Dr. Edward Joseph, Treasurer
