In the abstract of the Business Meeting of Members published in Volume 18, No. 4, the following text was omitted:
"After the recess of Council, however, there were many informal expressions of dissatisfaction, and when Council reconvened on Friday morning Dr. Lawrence Schwartz moved and Dr. Wallerstein seconded a motion for reconsideration of the Report. At this time it was agreed that the restriction making this group of members ineligible for the Presidency is of symbolic significance only and might well defeat again the intent of the proposed By-Law to give recognition to this special group. Moreover, it is more of a restriction on the prerogatives of the regular members in regard to whom they may elect for office than on the membership requirements for nonmedical training and supervising analysts. Accordingly, a motion to strike this restriction from the proposed By-Laws was carried almost unanimously."
