The Fall Meeting of the American Psychoanalytic Association was held at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, New York City, December 19-23, 1984. An abstract of the Business Meeting of Members, including reports of the Secretary of the Executive Council, the Secretary of the Board on Professional Standards, the Treasurer of the Association, and the Editor of the Journal, as well as others, is published in this issue of the Bulletin. Members who desire to obtain copies of the Minutes may do so by communication with the Administrative Director, Mrs. Helen Fischer, One East 57th Street, New York, N.Y. 10022.
Prior to the Business Meeting of Members, which was held on Friday, December 21, 1984, a Members' Breakfast was held. It is to be noted that the rescheduling of the Meeting of Members to Friday morning, the Members' Breakfast, and the changes in the agenda for the meeting were instituted to increase attendance at the Meeting of Members. More than 200 members attended both functions.
The Meeting of Members began at 8:30 A.M. with Dr. Edward D. Joseph, President, officiating and Dr. Edith Sabshin as Secretary. Dr. Joseph announced the presence of a quorum. The Proceedings of the May 5, 1984, Business Meeting of Members were adopted as published in the Minutes. Dr. Joseph opened the polls and announced the names of the tellers: Drs. Kenneth T. Calder, Facundo P. Lima, Robert L. Tyson, and Evelyne Schwaber.
Dr. Joseph introduced a number of invited honored guests at the meetings, and members who are or were in prestigious and responsible positions in the Association.
