The Twenty-Ninth International Psycho-Analytical Congress was held in London, from Sunday 20 July, to Friday 25 July, 1975, at the Grosvenor House Hotel. The meetings were held under the auspices of the British Psycho-Analytical Society, and under the Presidency of Prof. Serge Lebovici.
In respect of scientific meetings and social events, the Association is indebted to the Congress Organizing Committee, under Co-Chairmanship of Mr Tom Hayley and Dr Stanley Leigh, and its Secretary, Miss Helen Boxall, and to Miss Pearl King, Dr André Green and Dr Edward M. Weinshel, Co-Chairmen of the Programme Committee.
An informal reception was given by the host Society for Congress participants at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Sunday evening, which was much appreciated by everyone. On Tuesday, 22nd July, the formal Congress Reception was held at the Guildhall in the City of London, attended by the Lord Mayor of London. This afforded participants from overseas the opportunity to see one of the old buildings of London, and the wine, food and some Elizabethan music all went towards creating a delightatmosphere. The closing social event took place in the Great Room of the Grosvenor House Hotel and took the form of a banquet, with cabaret and dancing, which was very much enjoyed by all who attended. Participants were also given the opportunity to visit numerous historical houses and sites in and around London, to attend the opera at Glyndebourne, the theatre at Stratford-upon-Avon, and to avail themselves of the private hospitality of many colleagues of the British Society.
The International Psycho-Analytical Association wishes to express its warm appreciation to the colleagues of the British Society, and to all others who
