I approached this book with misgivings. It is long (379 pages). It is a multiauthored compilation (23 authors) and it is a group tribute to the founding father of group analysis, Sigmund Heinrich Foulkes. Nevertheless, I found myself reading it, at first hesitantly and reluctantly, later with interest, and finally with enthusiasm. The richness of the work is captured in its wide-ranging subject matter: Anthropology, Education, General Systems Theory, Adolescence, History, Family Therapy, Analytical Psychology, Chekhov's plays, Metascience, as well as essays on group analysis per se.
