I believe in Sigmund Freud, Creator of the Polymorphous Pervert, And of all things conscious and unconscious.
And in the one sovereign cure of psychoanalysis, only-begotten treatment of Sigmund Freud, created by his genius before all others, Id of Id, Ego of Ego, Superego of Superego, Discovered, not invented, Proceeding from the psyche of Sigmund Freud, by whom hysterics were cured. Which for us psychotherapists, and for our enlightenment, came down to Vienna, And was made Word by the Muse through the mind of Freud. And was published. And was criticized also for us by Freud's colleagues. It suffered and was revised. And over the years it replaced many neurobiological treatments, as Freud had predicted. And was sanctified. And shall be unquestioned. And is employed by both the skilled and the unskilled, whose therapies shall have no end.
And I believe in the Libido, the Lord and Giver of life. Which was unblocked in psychoanalysis by Sigmund Freud, Which with unacceptable ideas and impulses is frustrated and repressed. Which speaks through the Id. And I believe in free association and interpretation. I acknowledge that transference is the basis of therapy. And I look for the transformation of neurosis into common unhappiness, And for the sublimation of socially undesirable wishes.
