Dear Editor
I am writing to ask if you would be willing to mention in your Journal a new initiative being undertaken by the University of Hertfordshire and Jessica Kingsley Publishers. We are developing a series of short books on research and innovation in the Arts Therapies. We hope to enable a wide variety of people to publish their ideas and analysis of their work on research. Hence, we would like to invite readers and contributors to your Journal to take part.
The Arts Therapies Research Library (ATRL) series is a joint venture between the University of Hertfordshire and Jessica Kingsley Publishers. It is essentially an anthology of innovative and/or challenging essays on research and aims to develop the range and scope of the Arts Therapies and their neighbouring disciplines by creating a forum for discovery and debate. It emphasizes action research, development of methodology and advances in the theory and practice of the Arts Therapies. The series also encourages participation from others outside the field of the Arts Therapies. Such contact would increase the efficacy of a book's focus and would ensure that development in the Arts Therapies maintains a dialogue with developments in relevant fields. Furthermore, it aims to promote a combination of established authors/researchers/practitioners with unpublished/little published authors. The series aims to publish between three and four books a year, each on a theme. If you would like to contribute to the series, contact Phil Jones, General Editor, ATRL, Department of Art & Arts Therapies, Faculty of Art & Design, University of Hertfordshire, College Lane, Hatfield, Hertfordshire AL10 9AB, UK, or e-mail:
Thank you.
Yours sincerely
Phil Jones
