This article will discuss the adverse impact of Covid-19 and the simultaneous move to online work on couples struggling with narcissistic difficulties and claustro-agoraphobic dilemmas. A move from the vitality of increased contact during prepandemic therapy to the safety of a psychic retreat during lockdown will be described and illustrated by a case. The question of what kind of object online therapy is (too close or too far away) will be discussed, and the disruptive effect of the rupture to the frame will be outlined. The importance of mourning during the pandemic will be reflected on as, in some cases, previous feelings of vitality, movement, and closeness were difficult to keep alive.
