In this paper, I have addressed myself to a discussion of symptom formation in certain schizophrenic manifestations. It is suggested that the choice of symptoms is closely related to transferential phenomena, as well as to implicit socio-cultural expectations.
I introduced the terms "transferential imprinting" and "instantaneous transference" as conceptual tools in alluding to the formation of schizophrenic psychopathology.
