This paper focuses on ins and outs of establishing a therapeutic bond with a high-functioning, semi-closed-off woman, whose therapist left her to be a mother. Her new therapist (the author) explores his fantasies, feelings, reveries, challenges as moods shift and need develops, while key differences between ther-apist and patient in the new situation become apparent.
