The term ideal institute should not imply perfection but, rather, a lively clinical community that offers support and stimulation to its members. As an educational home it is a place for candidates to learn the basics of psychoanalytic inquiry. Over the span of one's analytic career, it facilitates the development of each member's uniquely individual voice, while also providing the sense of belonging that we all need.
