This paper aims to elucidate the underlying cultural matrix of distorted representations of therapists in films. Violations of boundaries on the big screen are discussed, and the meaning of transferential passion both in the clinical realm and in films is explored. Contemporary films are used as illustrations and markers of how representations of therapists have evolved in the history of cinema.
