Charles B. Strozier, Ph.D., is professor of history and founding director of the Center on Terrorism at the City University of New York, as well as a faculty member at the Training and Research Institute for Self Psychology (TRISP) and a practicing psychoanalyst in New York City. He has been an honorary member of the American Psychoanalytic Association since 2006, was the winner of the 2002 Gradiva Award for the best biography in psychoanalysis for Heinz Kohut: The Making of a Psychoanalyst (Farrar, Straus & Giroux, 2001), and has twice been nominated for a Pulitzer Prize (2001 and 2011), among other awards. Strozier was the founding editor (1972–86) of The Psychohistory Review and has published scores of books, book chapters, and articles on aspects of history and psychoanalysis.
