Dear Readers,
The last 2 years have been a difficult time for all of us, filled with disruptions, isolation, and the loss of loved ones, routines, and life as we knew it. For us personally, it has been a cumulative wearing down and wearing out. As a result, we have been moving more slowly. Hence, the lateness of this issue. Given this pause, we thought we would take the opportunity to share a bit about how we work, give you a snapshot of where we are and where we’re going, and thank our editors, reviewers, and contributors.
Content in Contemporary Psychoanalysis may include unsolicited manuscripts that have gone through our peer review process or come from invited authors.
Regarding our peer review process, Contemporary Psychoanalysis privileges an intense process of vetting manuscripts submitted to the CP Taylor & Francis portal: two to three Associate Editors anonymously review these articles, after which a member of the Editorial Board reads and comments on the critiques made by the initial reviewers. Along with one of the Executive Editors, the Editorial Board Member prepares a letter for the author(s) and it is sent after we, as Editors-in-Chief, review it. We thoroughly edit every accepted manuscript, working closely with our authors, before anything appears in print. This is a sometimes long and arduous process, but it assures that our content is the best it can be. We often receive grateful letters from authors for our careful readings, even when a manuscript is rejected.
