PRIEST Where's the P.A.? I've had a horrible dream. God! I've forgotten it already!
P.A. It's not a dream. We are just going to start our weekly meeting.
PRIEST How did I get here then? Have I been walking in my sleep? It feels a bit like that. (To Alice) You have torn your dress, haven't you?
ALICE Where? So I have. More darning. She is very particular.
ROSEMARY I don't care in the least – so long as you are neatly turned out when I want you.
ALICE That's what I meant; I didn't mean –
ROSEMARY That will do. Go and darn it.
ALICE (submissively) Yes, Miss.
MAN Don't let her be insolent, darling. Dismiss her if she argues.
ROSEMARY She won't argue with me. Well, who's going to start?
