We are delighted to host a theme issue revisiting and reevaluating the analytical legacies of the 1960s, and are grateful to guest coeditors Candida Yates, Barry Richards, and Alexander Sergeant for shepherding these illuminating and incisive strolls down memory lane to completion. Given the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, though, we also are fortunate enough to kick off the issue with Michael Chanan's contemplation of our collective plight. Our elites never let a crisis go to waste, why should we?
Looking ahead to a post-Covidian world we continue to plan a special issue of reminiscences, assessments, and analyses of the late great Bob Young's life and work. We heartily welcome all such contributions. Meanwhile, we are determined to carry on at the journal in Bob's critical and eclectic spirit.
