It is a pleasure to report that NCSPP's membership is growing steadily with each passing year. To maintain this growth, the Membership Committee has continued its outreach efforts to students and clinicians in the broader community. This past spring, the Membership Committee sponsored an introductory-level seminar on working with difficult patients in community mental health settings. The seminar was held at the then newly opened ACCESS Institute for Psychological Services, and it was an engaging, well-attended event. Case presentations by Hugh Molesworth and Dai To were followed by discussion and commentary led by Vivian Dent. It was rewarding to see a number of attendees who were completely new to NCSPP. Using what was learned in the process of organizing and advertising this event, the Membership Committee is currently developing a monthly series of introductory-level lectures and seminars set to begin Spring 2005. It is our hope that these educational offerings will provide a point of entry for those curious about NCSPP and new to the psychoanalytic community.
In addition to its outreach efforts, the Membership Committee has continued orienting new members to the organization and getting the NCSPP Directory accurately published on time. Many thanks to Michele McGuinness for her invaluable assistance in getting these things accomplished.
I would also like to recognize and thank the members of the Membership Committee. They are: Cleopatra Victoria, Mar Rodin, Salome Dineros, and Dena Shehab.
