2004-2005 for the Sacramento Valley Education Committee has been a time of change and evolution. As our programs have expanded and matured over the past five years, we have spent the year recruiting new committee members to support our continued growth. Our new members include Barbara Brandes, Sandra Dussault, Jacqueline Horn, Candence Little, David Pickens, and Marta Pickens. We have seen the departure in March of Nancy Kernick, a charter member of our committee who left to work on the Child Psychotherapy Project in Sacramento. Nancy contributed greatly to the development and growth of our continuing education programs. As part of this period of growth and transition, Andrea and I will be leaving at year's end, and Katherine Fraser will be taking over as chair of the committee beginning in 2006.
We began as Co-Chairs five years ago, with eleven NCSPP members in our region. The Sacramento Valley Education Committee has now recruited over seventy members and has established a series of annual conferences and lectures that have been well attended over the last five years. So, we are looking forward to watching a very talented group of clinicians led by Katherine Fraser further expand the educational and training opportunities to our membership and the community in the coming years.
We are very excited about our Fall Event, featuring Stephen Seligman giving a presentation entitled, Attachment, Inter subjectivity and Object Relations: Lessons from Infancy for Psychotherapy on Friday, November 4, and Saturday, November 5, in Sacramento at the Sierra Health Foundation. We are also pleased to offer, for the third year, our lecture series, Contemporary Issues in Psychoanalysis. The topics and presenters for this series will be announced soon. The lectures will be offered on Saturday mornings on January 7, February 4, and March 11, 2006, in Davis at the Veterans Memorial Club Room.
We want to thank Michele McGuinness for her continued support to our committee over the last four
