The Technology Committee was created after numerous discussions between the NCSPP Executive Committee and the full Board. Recognizing that NCSPP can do more to leverage technology, we created this committee to look holistically at the organization's use of technology to help implement better ways to create a “virtual home” for our members and to efficiently handle administrative functions, such as processing annual memberships.
This year we focused on gathering and documenting requirements for automating administrative functions and brainstorming how committee Chairs could make better use of technology, such as our website, online document sharing, and social networking.
In the coming year, we look forward to implementing a new website that is more inviting, easier to use, and more interactive. We plan to make videos from our events available for online viewing, pilot tools to help people remotely attend our programming, and provide ways for members to dialog with each other about features in our journal, fort da, and our monthly enewsletter, Impulse.
The committee members, Matthew Morrisey and Michele McGuinness, already serve on the Board and have extensive knowledge about how NSCPP interacts with membership. Matthew is the Committee Chair and Editor for Impulse and Michele is our Registrar, Administrator, and Production Manager for all our publications. Both have made significant and thoughtful contributions as we plan new projects and deserve many thanks.
