As of the time of this writing, the committee — Alicia Lawson, Jonathan Melvin, Michael Roeske, Tovah Sirkin, and Mary Beth Trail — and I are looking forward to our next event: The Fall Wine & Cheese Social Event. This soiree will take place at a private home in San Francisco and is designed to enable NCSPP members (as well as our fellow analytically oriented clinicians) to meet and get to know one another better. Following the Samovar Tea House Social and the Spring “Speed Meeting,” this event will be the third in a series of events we've hosted in 2011 and 2012, and we're optimistic that it will be another great opportunity for clinicians to socialize in a relaxed, fun atmosphere.
As a committee, we recognize that it takes a lot for our colleagues to overcome shyness or anxiety, and we are committed to creating events that are as welcoming and unintimidating as possible. The relationships we build in this field are invaluable for collaboration, consultation, referrals, and even debriefing. For that reason we aim to facilitate community in this organization as best we can.
I want to thank my committee members for their hard work and dedication. I appreciate your efforts and it has been a joy to work with you.
