NCSPP completed our fiscal year with a net profit of about $750. This year we appropriated $15,000 of our funds to redesign NCSPP's website and online newsletter, which is now up and running. We had expected to dip into our reserves to finance this project; however, our net income enabled us to avoid making that move and still left us with a small profit.
The ISG's fees surpassed expectations this year, as did the fees from the Annual Lecture and the educational classes. The couple's therapy event, the scientific meetings, and our pre-license events, all helped boost the coffers. Our first Community Mental Health Event successfully covered its own expenses.
This year we met our expectations regarding membership numbers, resulting in substantial income from dues.
Our online newspaper, Impulse, which supports and serves the larger Northern California analytic community, again brought in considerable monies from advertisements.
This year is another in which our board and committee members worked hard and were fiscally responsible in keeping expenses within the budgeted limits, thereby contributing to our investment in the website and the overall surplus.
Next year we plan to make a second major investment in our website and electronic communications, enabling NCSPP to archive our material and offer remote learning opportunities. It will also enable access to the website from mobile devices, bringing us finally into the 21st Century!
NCSPP has been able to maintain a healthy financial reserve, totaling approximately $130,000. This year we moved a further $25,000 of our reserves into our portfolio of conservative mutual funds. The dividends from these funds doubled their estimated income this year. These investments have continued to enable the organization to feel financially secure and weather the current economic climate with minimal losses.
Thanks to the hard work of our current board, committee member, and our invaluable administrator/registrar, Michele McGuinness, and to
