After another successful year of events, the Program Committee wishes to express our thanks to outgoing Chair, Jennifer Fitch, for her tremendous effort and grace. Deep appreciation goes to Michelle Baker and Kristin Felch for their dedicated leadership in 2013.
We kicked off the year with the Spring Scientific Meeting, at which Alyce Desrosiers and Kadija Johnson presented to an enthusiastic audience on “Maternal Identity and Childcare,” a discussion of outside childcare and a mother's developing sense of maternal identity. This event was so well received that the Fall 2013 Scientific Meeting will be a continuation of sorts. Alyce Desrosiers and Kadija Johnson will be joined by Daphne de Marnette for “The Modern Family: Exploring the Inner Lives of Working Mothers, Babies, and Childcare Providers.” This event will focus on the working mother, her baby, and their childcare provider as they develop their relationships to each other.
Unfortunately, unexpected health issues prevented Michael Shoshani from presenting at our 26th Annual Event, which had to be cancelled.
At the Couple Psychotherapy Event, a collaboration with the Psychoanalytic Couple Psychotherapy Group (PCPG), Stanley Ruszczynski will present: “Couples on the Couch: Working Psychoanalytically with Couple Relationships.” In addition, Tom Wooldridge will address Pro-Anorexia (“pro-ana”) Internet forums at our 2014 Spring Scientific Meeting. Stay tuned for an upcoming announcement about next year's Annual Event!
We thank the Board for its support, especially Michael Donnell, Program Division Chair. Committee members Sarah Bothe, Lori Goldman, Elana Guy, Melissa Kohner, Anna Lazo, and Annice Ormiston are responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and executing the programs we all enjoy.
