This year is my second as Editor-in-Chief of the Impulse newsletter. In the past year, the Impulse staff continued our purpose to inform the Bay Area community of upcoming events, and promoting psychoanalytic thinking through our features. The staff is currently composed of Shlomit Gorin, Managing Editor; Adam Blum, Potential Space Editor; Ripple Patel, Psychoanalysis in the News Editor; and Jessica Selvin, our new Features Editor. Our staff writers are Lorrie Goldin, Jane Reingold, and Suzanne Stambaugh, who provide the thoughtful essays featured every month. A few months ago, we said goodbye to Mark McKinley, who was one of the first staff writers to join Impulse.
Our next steps are to look into ways to make our features, event listings, and classifieds relevant to our readers' needs. The President of NCSPP and I have committed to report upcoming opportunities and topics through ours and other organizations. The Division 39 Conference will be in San Francisco this coming year, and we will be working closely with them to keep you updated about what we can look forward to.
